The EICC is located within Edinburgh's city centre making it easily accessible whatever your method of travel.  With excellent air links and rail and road network, getting to Edinburgh from overseas or within the UK has never been easier.

Edinburgh has one of the UK's fastest growing airports and new flights are always being added. The EICC is located in the heart of the city and within 10km (6 miles) of Edinburgh International Airport.

From Edinburgh Airport by Bus
The Airlink 100 operates a frequent bus service (every 10 minutes at peak times) between Edinburgh Airport and the city centre, with designated stops en route. The service starts at 04.30 and runs until 00.22 at night, with the journey taking 20 minutes. Tickets cost £3.50 single and £6.00 return. Delegates are advised to disembark at Haymarket Railway Station and to follow signs for EICC on foot (5 minute walk). See city centre map for directions. 

The N22 bus also departs from outside the Airport entrance and runs every half an hour through the night until the Airlink service starts again. For more information about these services visit

From Edinburgh Airport by Taxi
There is an excellent taxi service from the airport to the city. You'll find official airport taxis at the taxi rank outside the terminal building (follow the signs within the airport). It costs approximately £15 to get a taxi from the airport to the city centre and the journey takes 20 minutes depending on the time of day.

From Edinburgh Airport by Tram
A tram service operates from outside the airport to the City centre costing £5 single and £8 return. For the EICC, the closest tram stop is Haymarket or West End Princes Street. The EICC is less than 10 minute walk from either stop.  For more information on the tram service, visit the website at  

From Glasgow Airport
Glasgow Airport is Scotland's long-haul gateway, with some 30 airlines serving around 90 destinations worldwide. 

Glasgow Airport connects to key locations around the UK, including over 30 flights per day linking London to Glasgow. Airlinks with major scheduled carriers such as Lufthansa and KLM plus United Airlines' daily service from New York to Glasgow opens up the European and transatlantic gateways. The twice daily service by Emirates links over 100 destinations in Asia, Africa and Australasia to Glasgow.

Glasgow is approximately 50 minutes by bus to Edinburgh. 

By train

By train

Edinburgh has two railway stations - Waverley and Haymarket. Waverley is the main station and has direct routes to many cities across the country, including over 25 daily departures from London.

The closest station to the EICC is Haymarket which is approximately a 10 minute walk. The walking time from Waverley is approximately 20 minutes.

By taxi


Taxis in Edinburgh are licensed to operate within the City of Edinburgh council area. 

Taxis can be hailed in the street or found at many of the taxi stances situated in and around the city centre area and the suburbs. These stances are clearly marked. There is a taxi stance situated directly outside the EICC's Strathblane Entrance on Morrison Street. There are also taxi stances at the rail way stations and airport.

By tram


The Edinburgh tram route covers 14km from York Place in the city centre all the way to Edinburgh Airport. Single tickets from the airport to the city centre is £5 and for a return journey, £8. Tickets should be purchased prior to boarding the tram and there are vending machines at each stop. Ticket vending machines accept most debit and credit cards (£3 minimum spend) as well as 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2 coins. No change is given. The closest tram stop to the EICC is Haymarket or West End Princes Street and is less than a 10 minute walk.
